Process to – Renew Driving License in Pune, Maharashtra (Year 2020)

Visit sarathi.parivahan.gov.in site. Select State = Maharashtra & select RTO -12 from drop-down list.
on left side-menu, select Apply Online from drop-down list. Under this, select Services on Driving Licence (Renewal/Duplicate/others). Follow the instructions for – Renewal of licence / change in address / Change in Name.
Upload the required documents (Aadhar card / PAN card / Passport etc)
Once you upload the document, you will receive one application number via SMS for future reference/ tracking.
Take appointment of RTO office for verification of uploaded documents. Take appointment at 10AM, as less crowd at that time.
If possible avoid 4-wheeler to visit RTO office, as parking is limited. Use 2-wheeler (parking fees = 5 INR)
During your visit to RTO office (near Sangam Bridge, Pune), carry printout of uploaded application, original documents and self-attached photo-copy of uploaded documents.
If your age is above 40, you need to carry medical certificate (in next lane of RTO office, you can find MBBS doctor, who can provide you certificate with nominal charges.)
Do not entertain any agents, and go directly to block-C of RTO office.
submit the documents at one of the counters of block-C
Also carry xerox of online payment receipt and ask the person at block-C to give stamp on that receipt as proof of submission.
Once all the documents are verified, you will get SMS (which reads as : Your application (12345XXX) for services on Driving license is approved) within 7 to 10 days.
You can check your newly updated driving license on mParivahan mobile app by adding your driving license number (as you are renewing the license, the license number will not change).
The License will be sent to you via post. The status of the same can be tracked on sarathi.parivahan.gov.in using application number.
